NewsON Named 2017 CES Mobile Apps Showdown Finalist

Nationwide local TV news service NewsON nominated for top app at CES 2017

Now in its 8th year, the Mobile Apps Showdown combines online crowd voting with expert panel review.

Each finalist was selected by a panel of judges, including journalists, engineers, designers and developers. In early December 2016, the judges chose the top mobile apps to compete in an online vote and a live competition on Jan. 7, 2017 where an applause-o-meter measures audience enthusiasm to determine the winner.

NewsON is a first-of-its-kind service that provides consumers with access to live and on-demand local newscasts as well as local news clips on mobile, web and connected TV devices. The NewsON app gives people access from Apple or Android smartphones and Amazon tablets as well as Roku enabled smart TVs.
