NewsON Donates $10,000 to Help Rebuild Communities Affected by Hurricane Matthew

ATLANTA–NewsON today announced its donation of $10,000 to the local Fayetteville, North Carolina Habitat for Humanity chapter to assist in rebuilding communities affected by Hurricane Matthew. This donation was achieved through support from NewsON consumers and the recipient was based on viewers votes via a social media poll.NewsON presented the donation on November 1, 2016.

Demonstrating its ongoing commitment to connecting communities, NewsON created its Hurricane Matthew relief campaign to give viewers from across the country a voice in the relief efforts. The national campaign encouraged people to download the NewsON app to stay informed with crucial Hurricane Matthew updates throughout the storm. The company pledged to donate $1 per app download during their week of Hurricane Matthew coverage, up to $10,000. NewsON viewers were then polled on social media to determine the organization to receive the donation, with Habitat for Humanity gaining the most votes at 47% of the total.
